SaveIt – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
SaveIt ("the app") is a media saver for links you choose to paste or share into it, and for WhatsApp statuses you have already viewed on your own phone.
What we process
- Links you submit. When you paste or share a link, the app sends that link to our resolver service so it can find the direct media file. We do not store the link beyond a short-lived cache (up to 10 minutes) used to speed up repeated requests.
- Device identifier. A non-personal device ID is sent with resolver requests only to apply fair-use rate limits.
- Files. Downloaded media is saved on your device (Movies/SaveIt, Pictures/SaveIt, or the app's private vault). It never leaves your phone through us.
- WhatsApp statuses. The app reads only the statuses folder you explicitly grant access to, on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Crash and usage analytics. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They collect an app-instance ID, device model, Android version, app version, crash stack traces and aggregate usage events (for example, "download completed" or which site a link came from — never the link itself or the file). This is used only to fix bugs and improve reliability. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy terms.
- Sign-ins in the built-in browser. If you log in to a website inside the app's browser, that site's cookies stay in the app on your phone and are sent only to that website. We never receive your passwords or cookies.
- App lock PIN. Your PIN is stored only on your device, as a salted hash. Fingerprint unlock uses Android's own biometric system; the app never sees your fingerprint.
- Advertising. The app may show ads served by Google. Ad partners may use a resettable advertising ID as described in Google's policies. You can reset or limit it in your device settings.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not read your contacts, messages, or files outside the folders you grant.
Deleting your data
Everything the app keeps is on your device: uninstall the app or use Android Settings → Apps → SaveIt → Storage → Clear storage to delete it. Resolver cache entries expire on their own within 10 minutes. To ask for deletion of analytics data linked to your app-instance ID, email us and we will process it within 30 days.
Your rights
You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage. For questions, contact vivekpatelismyname@gmail.com.
Content responsibility
Only save content you have the right to keep. SaveIt does not support downloading from services whose terms prohibit it.
